PROJECTS

Since 1980 the foundation has been working closely with Pipestem Resort State Park to help choose projects that are needed and often necessary for the betterment of the park. Everything from micro flush toilets to bat houses, fire pits, ADA swings, picnic shelters, paint for the sport courts, and more.

FIRE PITS

In 2022 the Foundation funded the construction of two fire pits. One was put at the campground area and the other is at Mountain Creek Lodge.

COURTYARD GARDEN

ADA SWINGS

The Pipestem Foundation has purchased two wheelchair accessible swings for the playgrounds at Cottage Area-C and the Campground to make these areas more enjoyable to guests with physical limitations. New concrete walkways are scheduled to be installed this year to make the swings more accessible.

PICNIC SHELTERS

The foundation has funded the picnic shelters at Park Headquarters, the Nature Center, and at the tennis courts.

BAT HOUSES

Bat houses have been installed at the outdoor amphitheater to help deter the bats from occupying the stage.

GAZEBO

MICROFLUSH TOILETS

In 2019, two micro flush toilets were installed at the park. They were funded in part by the Pipestem Foundation, the Bluefield Rotary Club, and Pipestem Resort State Park. It is part of the Global Sustainable Aid Project.
